NATIONAL ACTION PLAN FOR SENIOR CITIZENS’
Senior Citizens’ Home (Old Age Home) :
Netaji Pathachakra is not only careful about the future generation but also bows its head to senior citizens and is trying to extend whatever help is possible to the Aged people in distress. With the assistance from Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment, Government of India, your organization is maintaining a full-fledged Senior Citizens’ Home (Old Age Home) for 25 male inmates SINCE 01.01.1993. Apart from taking care about their health and nutrition they are also being given appropriate inputs for amusement, recreation and outing so that they can maintain a good state of health, namely fitness of body and mind together.
On 24th March 2020, the Govt. of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi ordered a nationwide lockdown as a preventive measure against the COVID -19 pandemic in India, It was ordered after a 14-hour voluntary public curfew on 22 March 2020, followed by enforcement of a series of regulations in the country’s COVIT -19 affected regions. To contain the spread of corona virus outbreak in India, we have maintained the social distance and using mask & hand sanitizer as well as govt. health guidelines among the senior citizens’ as well as staffs at the home during the lockdown period. CCTV cameras covered around the senior citizens’ home with uploading the website.
With financial assistance from Ministry of Women and Child Development, Govt. of India through Directorate of ICDS, West Bengal, 25 infants between the age group 6 months to 6 years belonging to working and ailing mothers are being maintained in one crèche for their both physical and mental care, so that they can become, in course of time, a true citizen of India, both physically and mentally fit. One crèche Worker and one Creche Helper and one Doctor are engaged for this programme.
To assist the helpless women who are victims of dowry and social harassment due to injustice, Central Social Welfare Board, New Delhi sanctioned a Family Counselling Centre from 2001-2002. One male & one female trained Counsellor (MSW) are engaged for this programme. An advisory committee has been formed headed by DSWO, Purba Medinipur, Protection Officer, Purba Medinipur; B.D.O. & B.W. O. Khejuri-I, representatives of W.B.S.W.B., CI of Police, Advocate, Panchayat member, & local eminent person for proper implementation of the programme. The dispute cases / application of the destitute women are being solved by two Counsellors with the help from different agencies. Awareness camps have been organized by your organization at different Blocks of Contai, Egra & Tamluk Sub-Division for proper awareness of general people about the programme.
